2011 Nominations

Award Categories

Join other paralegals in a celebration of excellence in our

profession. In October 2011, at the Annual Convention

and Policy Meeting, we will be recognizing the

outstanding achievements of individuals and associations

that have made a significant contribution to the paralegal

profession. Scholarships for the advancement of the

paralegal profession will also be awarded. These awards

and scholarships will be presented at our luncheon on

Saturday, October 15 at the Hilton Minneapolis/St. Paul

Airport Mall of Amerca.

Following are the award categories/scholarships:

William R. Robie Leadership Award, Association Pro

Bono Award, Individual Pro Bono Award, NFPA

Outstanding Leader Award, NFPA Paralegal of the Year

Award, PACE™ Ambassador Award, PACE Scholarship,

and NFPA/Thomson Reuters Scholarships. We encourage

you to nominate a person whom you have encountered

through NFPA.

Association Pro Bono Award

This award recognizes a NFPA member association that

has exhibited outstanding dedication and service in the

area of Pro Bono Services. Anyone can nominate a NFPA

member association for this award.

Individual Pro Bono Award

This award recognizes an individual practicing paralegal

who has exhibited extraordinary dedication to the delivery

of quality legal services to a portion of the population that

cannot afford to pay for legal services. Anyone can

nominate a candidate for this award. The candidate need

not be a member of NFPA or a NFPA member association.

NFPA Outstanding Leader Award

This award recognizes an individual NFPA member for

outstanding leadership contributions to their local

association. Only a NFPA member association may

nominate candidates for this award.

Celebrate Success

NFPA Paralegal of the Year Award

This award recognizes an individual NFPA member whose

on-the-job achievements have contributed to expansion of

the paralegal profession, including contributions to his or

her employer and colleagues and the paralegal profession

in general. Candidates for this award must be members of

a NFPA member association or individual sustaining

members of NFPA.

William R. Robie Leadership Award

This award recognizes a NFPA member in honor of the

Honorable William R. Robie and his dedication to the paralegal

profession, the expansion of the delivery of legal

services and equal access to justice for all Americans.

Each member association may nominate a candidate for

the award.

PACE Ambassador Award

This award recognizes outstanding achievement in

promoting the PACE program. Any NFPA member

Association may nominate its PACE Ambassador and

association for the award.

PACE Scholarship

This scholarship is to be used solely and exclusively for

the purpose of taking PACE and to purchase study

materials in connection with the preparation to take PACE.

NFPA/Thomson Reuters Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to paralegal students and

to be used to pursue a paralegal education.

These awards and scholarships are NFPA’s

highest honors, and the judges take their

responsibility seriously. The award and

scholarship winners will be selected using the

criteria found at www.paralegals.org.
